Log In Now Graduation 2020 The White Oak senior class will have an in-person graduation following all TEA and State of Texas social distancing guidelines on Friday, May 29 th at 6:30pm at Roughneck Stadium. (Originally TEA announced the earliest date for in-person graduations as June 1 st , but late yesterday moved that date up to the 29 th ) The graduation ceremony is for seniors and family only (limited to 10 family members). However, so that the community, friends and all Roughnecks can share in this special event the commencement will be livestreamed by a professional videography company as well as broadcast on Roughneck Radio. A professional photographer will be on-site as well, to capture that special moment. Immediately following the ceremony there will be a parade on White Oak Road so that ALL Roughnecks can support the class of 2020. Administration will be having brief, small group (social distanced) meetings Tuesday (12 th ) afternoon to discuss details and give directions for family members and graduates. (TEA will not allow rehearsals) Please call central admin if you have not scheduled a time (one family member and the graduate are requested to attend) In the event of inclement weather the alternate date for the ceremony is Saturday, May 30 th . NEW MESSAGE FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT ABOUT SCHOOL CLOSURE White Oak ISD Community, Due to the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, today Governor Greg Abbott announced that all schools in Texas will be closed until midnight on April 3 rd , with a tentative reopen date of Monday, April 6 th . Therefore, White Oak ISD will remain closed until that time. Please note that this is a very fluid situation, and this could be extended depending upon recommendations the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and so-forth. White Oak ISD will continue the distance learning plan developed by campus administration to try and have a continued educational process. Please check campus webpages, Facebook, blogs etc., for any updated information. Please know that we are looking at every possible ramification that these decisions will have on our students moving forward. We will keep their needs and interests in the forefront of that decision-making process. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause and the disruption of routine, but the health and well being of all Roughnecks will always be our guiding compass. Brian Gray-Superintendent of Schools White Oak ISD The Home of ROUGHNECK Pride WOISD welcomes Brian Gray as Superintendent Brian Gray is the new Superintendent of White Oak ISD. The school board unanimously approved hiring Mr. Gray with a 7-0 vote at Thursday evening’s special called meeting. Mr. Gray is expected to begin his Superintendent duties on March 2, 2020.
